OLSS School Receives Certificate of Recognition

The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth has recently presented to OLSS School The International Mathematics and Verbal Certificate of Recognition for support of students with high academic potential in the 2011 academic year.
OLSS Grade 7 Students Honor Korean War Veterans
Each year Korean War Veterans Lou Tirone and Pat Scarpati discuss their military experiences with our seventh and eighth grades. Their talks are mesmerizing and allow the students to examine the Korean War through the eyes of soldiers. Our school recently honored these two fine soldiers for their service to our country and their commitment to education. A painting by artist Grace Volpe, grandmother of Dante Volpe in grade 7, depicting a soaring eagle was presented to them. May God hold these men in the palm of His hand.
